12/30/21: OK, not really an album (in fact, I'm too lazy to even come up with a cover), but an example of what happens when I actually take songwriting seriously for an entire month. I wrote all these songs during February Album Writing Month in 2021, during the COVID pandemic, when there was basically nothing to do except watch the snow and complain. I recorded these in my office over the months that followed, and while they're not going to win any awards for sound quality, I did want to put them all out there. Five of them are really good; I'll let you decide which ones.

The album download includes all the MP3s, plus lyric booklets in both 8.5x11 and CD insert format, plus the fake album cover for you DIY folks who just have to make up a piece of plastic yourself.

1/20/17: My most recent studio album, The Great Indoors, is my best album ever (and remember, I'm not a modest man - see below). It was produced by the estimable Jeff Root, and recorded at the Root Cellar in Westminster, MA, and rocks a full band: me on vox, guitars, piano and organ; Dave on drums and percussion; and Jeff on the electric bass thingy. It also features the incomparable Walter Crockett on lead acoustic geetar, and a special guest appearance on string bass by my bruddah.

I've been pretty pleased with the response. My pal Rob Mattson hosted a CD release house concert, and the album was repped by Erik Balkey at Hudson Harding Music. It got airplay on various folk programs around the country, and DJ Rich Warren of WMFT in Chicago twice chose "The Great Indoors" as one of "Rich's Picks" in the month of September (one of the other picks was Richard Shindell, so I was pretty darn pleased). What my pal Jon McAuliffe refers to as my "hit", Shlomo the Dreidel Shark, got more airplay due to its inclusion on the Hudson Harding annual holiday compilation. I also had a nice interview and CD review in the September 2016 issue of The Noise, published by my pal T Max. and my CD was chosen as one of Boston's Metronome Magazine Top 5 for November 2016.

Update 12/30/21: Time to stop trying to sell this puppy, and let you nice folks download it yourselves. You can also find me on Spotify, or, if you're still inclined to toss me some dollars, iTunes. The album download includes all the MP3s, plus lyric booklets in both 8.5x11 and CD insert format, plus all the album art for you DIY folks who just have to make up a piece of plastic yourself.

9/10/09: I'm finally releasing my latest live album, Takin' It To the Emacks, as an Internet-only download (no pieces of round plastic this time around, folks). It was recorded last April at Emack and Bolio's in Roslindale, when I featured at Carlyn Hutchins' late, lamented open mike. Steve Friedman did the live recording honors, as usual, and Dave contributed his usual percussion panache.

The album download includes all the MP3s, plus lyric booklets in both 8.5x11 and CD insert format, plus all the album art for you DIY folks who just have to make up a piece of plastic yourself.

4/3/08: My brand-new album, I'm Not a Modest Man, is my first studio album since my gigantic compendium five years ago (exactly, apparently). Jason Benjamin recorded it with me and Dave, in my own little house. It's a little rough in places, but our goals were to get some recent stuff on disc and have some fun, and we certainly accomplished both of those things. High points include the title track, as well as Five Dwarf Day, Your Side of the Bed, Abbie Hoffman's Revenge, and Ya Gotta Mumble If You Wanna Sing the Blues.

You can purchase the physical CD at CDBaby, or from me at one of my shows, or download the album. The album download includes all the MP3s, plus lyric booklets in both 8.5x11 and CD insert format, plus all the album art for you DIY folks who just have to make up a piece of plastic yourself.

2/23/07: You'll be thrilled to discover that my brand-new 9-song live EP Thirds, recorded last summer in a split bill at Club Passim with Mark Stepakoff, is finally ready. This is my first CD with my percussionist, David Troen-Krasnow (and no, he never lets me forget it).

The physical CD is the whole show, folks - intros, extraneous yakking, wild applause, the works. You can purchase it at CDBaby, or from me at one of my shows, or you can download the album below. The album download has been remastered as individual songs, with or without intros. The album download also includes lyric booklets in both 8.5x11 and CD insert format, plus all the album art for you DIY folks who just have to make up a piece of plastic yourself.

[Do You Believe]

5/9/05: I'm pleased to announce the arrival of my 5-song live EP Do You Believe, recorded last summer at Club Passim with Dan Hart, Stanley Matis and Katherine Pritchard. The physical CD will include my 1999 3-song CD Live at Club Passim as a special bonus. Ask me about it!

You can get the CD from me at one of my shows, or download the album. The album download includes all the MP3s, plus lyric booklets in both 8.5x11 and CD insert format, plus all the album art for you DIY folks who just have to make up a piece of plastic yourself.

4/3/03: After long and arduous effort, my gigantic compendium Life is Like a River is done! It's a complete record of my musical adventures for the last five years: 3 CDs, 46 songs, $10. A bargain at several times the price, you'll agree. Mark Stepakoff, songwriter extraordinaire, calls it a "stunningly powerful and evocative collection". See me at a show, or ask me to mail it to you for an additional $2.

Update 5/15/06: Unfortunately, all the physical copies of this CD have been sold. But you can still download the album below. The album download includes all the MP3s, plus lyric booklets in both 8.5x11 and CD insert format, plus all the album art for you DIY folks who just have to make up a piece of plastic yourself.
